Aircraft Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular California Beach
A helicopter hovering over a crowded southern California shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a row of palm groves as spectators looked on.
Videos shared on social media show the aircraft beginning to twirl near the shoreline then falling in the direction of the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palms and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Details
Local firefighters stated five persons were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the road were harmed. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
The department indicated the helicopter was associated with an annual “Cars N Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for the following day.
