Skydance Paramount Will Eliminate Around 2,000 US Jobs – Report
Skydance Paramount plans to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 positions in the United States under a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are expected, as the firm planning to disclose full details via its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.
Prior news had indicated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, Paramount retained about 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 contract workers.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
